ReplyDeleteWith the white stuff all around and more to come, would welcome your thoughts on the impact the weather is having on trainer plans for Cheltenham.
My input.. Trainers are creatures of habit; the better ones would have targeted certain races as prep for the festival.
With most meetings cancelled and frozen gallops, I expect Cheltenham to be carnage for the current market leaders due to lack of preparedness and lack of peak fitness ..
Maybe an uber contrarian approach is the way ahead during Cheltenham.
Certainly giving Nicholls a headache with Denman, who definitely needs a run.
ReplyDeleteIt may be that those who had been expected to use this weekend as their prep will be the ones poorly handicapped compared to those who had their prep runs at Cheltenham (eg Diamond Harry, Big Bucks, Punchestown)or who are being aimed at Kempton.
Probably worth keeping an eye on the entries. Could easily become a pseudo science though!
