Chester 2:20
Desert Dew 9/4
Admiralofthefleet 3/1
Yazmaan 4/1
Ea 11/2
Sketchy tissue. Desert Dew fairly solid.
Chester 2:50
Scorpion 7/4
Ask 3/1
Peppertree Lane 4/1
The Whistling Teal 9/1
Scorpion with a lot of questions to answer and both he and Ask could be vulnerable first time out. That would let in Peppertree Lane as long as the ground is Ok, and he could possibly grind this out and expose any flaws in the favourites. He doesn't really strike me as a group horse but at 11/2 or better I think I'll pay to find out. This is considered a better race than last year when The Whistling Teal finally won, but you can at least be sure he's been readied for this and if you follow the line of reasoning opposing the front two, you'd probably want to save on him.
Chester 3:20
Giganticus 3/1
Dhaluar Dhar 5/1
Song of Passion 5/1
Glenbuck 7/1
This doesn't look that competitive and these four can make the most of their draws. Glenbuck has a chance of a softish lead, though that doesn't happen that often at Chester. However, anything above 10s looks worth a punt and you may get a chance to protect yourself in-running if that's your thing.
None of these appeal as £500 challenge bets though.
