Friday 18th July

£500 Challenge Bet” (£870 – 2 bets inplay – accounted)

Golf: Garcia's approach putting was pretty awful yesterday and he's started similarly today. It seems to me long putting is vital to succeed at links golf. The player who did this best yesterday (as far as the cameras showed) was K J Choi, who did so in the worst of the weather. I've added him to the portfolio. Snedeker tiptoed around unnoticed to be in contention.

KJ Choi £5ew at 33/1 (40/1 available with mickey mouse bookies)

Today's bet though is on the cricket, where I'll play up the luck I had with my barking bet last week. Headingly is a result pitch – only one draw in last ten tests. It also plays wickedly under cloud cover which looks certain. The weather could crush us, but the odds look even more lopsided than they can be.

Lay Draw 2nd Test to lose £25 at 5/4

Barking Bets” (Banked £500/Current bank £1266)
Good, simple, quiet day yesterday – one tennis player, one horse race.

No obvious bet today.
