Friday 4th July

£500 Challenge Bet” (£974 – 2 bets inplay - accounted

Looks like a lovely day to go to my favourite racecourse. I'll have to sit here and hope for a couple of winners instead.

My racing fund will be playing a couple of longshots who look value on the old tissue approach – Many Volumes (who looks long if you forgive seconditis) and Jeer (who should be much closer to Kateeb in the betting based on Newmarket form).

Here, let's play both races dutching a few at around evens.

4:00 Sandown £12.50 dutching Stage Gift/Many Volumes/Charlie Farnsbarns/Escape Route at better than evens

4:35 Sandown £12.50 dutching Kaateb/Caravel/Jeer at better than evens

Barking Bets” (Banked £500/Current bank £1400 roughly – bets in progress)

(I did the Williams sisters in the end and some nice racing bets. Getting the week back on track. Federer and Nadal very short (straight sets latter maybe). And not many races appeal – maybe warwick 2:40. In no rush. I think we've learnt the importance of patience in this fund, despite the need to turnover bets to make a meaningful profit)
